Giorgos Kokovlis studied<\/span>\u00a0graphic design<\/span>\u00a0in Athens<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0cermic<\/span>\u00a0in<\/span>\u00a0Ar.Co<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0Lisbon<\/span>.\u00a0He attended<\/span>\u00a0many<\/span>\u00a0seminars<\/span>\u00a0with international<\/span>\u00a0ceramists<\/span>, especially raku\u00a0baking<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0paperkilin<\/span>.\u00a0He has participated<\/span>\u00a0in many<\/span>\u00a0group exhibitions.\u00a0<\/span>

These unique pieces are fired at 1280\u00b0C in gas kiln. The clays that are used are stoneware and porcelain and the decoration is hand painted. Chemical formulas are the same all over the world. What varies is the way people see things and the way they approach the material.\u00a0Much more<\/span>\u00a0when this is done<\/span>\u00a0by a man with<\/span>\u00a0rich<\/span>\u00a0cultural backgrounds<\/span>.\u00a0This is the<\/span>\u00a0distinctive feature<\/span>\u00a0of his work<\/span>,\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0forms,<\/span>\u00a0the colors<\/span>,\u00a0the texture<\/span>\u00a0of the material<\/span>,\u00a0the inspiration<\/span>, but\u00a0mainly<\/span>\u00a0the understanding and<\/span>\u00a0assimilation<\/span>\u00a0of influences<\/span>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0the search for<\/span>\u00a0identity.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
